Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #194 - Critters & Hobbies

happy Monday!
let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

the challenge this time is so easy, yet so FUN! you'll want to play along more than once!

oh my goodness!
this is the BEST challenge!
I had so many card ideas, but ultimately, I couldn't resist making a card for my favorite hobby - reading!

so fun!
I love these sweet critters! and I LOVE their love of books! eeeeep!
I stamped and colored the images from Little Woodland Library. I colored in the images from Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then used the coordinating dies to die cut them out. I also added some details with a white gel pen.
and in keeping with a rainbow theme, I colored the critters to match the panels behind them!

for the background, I used Distress Inks to do ink blending on some rectangle panels that I cut from white cardstock. I used Picked Raspberry Dried Marigold for the top, Dried Marigold and Squeezed Lemonade for the middle, and Twisted Citron and Mermaid Lagoon for the bottom panel.
I love the rainbow!

 

I stamped the sentiment and heat embossed it in white onto some vellum. I also added some stars from the Lots of Stars Background Stencils with the white embossing paste!

I hope everyone is having a great week!
today I have a card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog! and it's BRIGHT y'all!! lol!

if this doesn't wake you up...nothing will! lol!
it's bright and full of caffeine! lol! I stamped the image from Coffee Delights and colored it in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then die cut them out with the coordinating dies! I also added some details with a white gel pen.

I also backed the image with some vellum and fussy cut around it to add some extra dimension.
for the background, I did lots of ink blending with Distress Inks in Picked Raspberry, Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch. then I used the Mugs Stencil and the same colors, but with more pressure and the same colors to create the tone-on-tone colors. I splattered some water on top and also some black ink.

lastly, I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto black cardstock and then popped it up with foam tape.

happy birthday from hedwig!

happy wednesday!
today I have this card up on the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog! the current challenge is all about finding inspiration from books, music or movies!
and I couldn't resist this time making a Harry Potter themed card!

so cute, right!
Hedwig is the star and she's bringing a Hogwarts acceptance letter for this birthday card! ha! I love it!
I stamped the images from Special Delivery, Critters in the Forest and Booyah. I colored in the owl and her accessories with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, but then I watercolored the trees! I think the watercoloring added a fun texture to the trees!

I used some Black Licorice Cardstock for the background. then used some white embossing paste and the Lots of Stars Background Stencils to make the night sky. I love that bold look and how the trees POP against the black sky.

I heat embossed the custom Hagrid inspired sentiment with Harold's ABCs in white onto vellum. then I die cut it out with the Stitched Sentiment Banners.

spring time thank you card

hello and happy Tuesday!
today I have a card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog and it's a perfectly timed thank you card!

so pretty, right?!
I stamped the main image from the Tulips stamp set 5 times and then colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.
I colored the flowers in various shades of reds and pinks. then I splattered white acrylic ink on top of everything. once it was all dry, I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out.

I ink blended the background with Distress Inks in Pine Needles, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron. then I splattered the same colors on top, as well as more white acrylic ink. I was going to add some stenciling to the background, but the splatters really covered that effect! ha!

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto some black cardstock, then trimmed it down. the sentiment is from the Floral Roundabout stamp set, and I love the font and size of the sentiments on that set!

hello and happy weekend!
today I have this JOY of a card up on the Lawn Fawn blog!
and bonus - there's a video to go along with it!

I combined some of the new products with some older products, which is always FUN and easy to do!

I started by stamping the images from Chirpy Chirp Chirp and Spring Basket and then coloring them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I stuck a simple color palette of pinks, oranges and yellows. I also used some browns and a splash of light grey - but mostly the pinks, oranges and yellows!
I also added some details with a white gel pen.

then I die cut out the main panels with the Shadow Box Card die set from Mermaid Cardstock. I used the Easter Egg Background Stencils to ink blend on the insides. I used the teals and blues to keep a subtle tone-on-tone look! I used Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch.

on the outside, I used the same blues to add just a hint of ombre for the sky. and I stamped the line of grass along all of the bottom borders in Distress Oxide Mowed Lawn.
then I got to decorate along all of the panels! and that's the best part!

do you have a favorite panel? mine is the cute little chick with a butterfly landing on his bunny ears! adorable!!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #193 - Inspired by a Book, Music or Movie

this time, I created a card inspired by Peter Pan!

so fun!
I stamped and colored the images from Fairy Friends and Ahoy, Matey! I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color the images. then I added some details with a white gel pen. I altered one of the pirate's hands to add a hook  (Captain Hook!). the hook was stamped with the question mark from Harold's ABCs! ha ha ha! love it!

 

 

I die cut the background using the Stitched Pond dies. I used Distress Inks in Vintage Photo and Fossilized Amber for the island. then I splattered some of the same ink on top, as well as some white acrylic ink. then I popped it up with foam tape.
I used Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers for the water!

I heat embossed the sentiment onto some Black Licorice Cardstock. then I die cut it out with the Stitched Sentiment Banners.

things are looking up!

hello!!
today I have a card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog, and I love how it came out!

it uses some of the new release and some older projects!
I stamped the cats image from the new Spring Heights stamp and then colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I added some details with a white gel pen and then die cut it out with the coordinating dies.

next, I used the A2 Card Layout 2 die set for the background!
I die cut out the background, taped it together and then ink blended it in blues (Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers, Salvaged Patina) and greens (Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron and Pine Needles) with the Hills & Grass Stencil. then I used the Cascading Stars Stencil and the same blues, but with more pressure. 

I also used the same stencil with some white embossing paste, but only with a select few of the stars.
I heat embossed the sentiment in vellum and then used the largest circle from the Frames Squared die set.
